If you are interested in mushrooms and live in Denmark, then this app is of interest to you. You can become a part of a bigger community with over 1000 active users helping each other becoming more knowledgable about danish fungal growth. Until now, our users have reported sightings of over 700.000 observations, which has helped increase our collective knowledge overall. All observations can be found on the map, and many are accompanied by photos and other notes.
If you are not living in Denmark, this app could still be of interest to you as we still have functionality that can be used no matter where you are. You are also very welcome to contribute with sightings from wherever you are in the world, as we are alway interested in seeing the differences in growth throughout the world.

This app has been developed as a part of the project Svampeatlas 2.0 which is a collaborative effort between Center for Makroecology, Evolution and Climate (CMEC) at the Natural History Museum of Denmark (SNM, University of Copenhagen), Danish Mycological Society and MycoKey. The people behind the project group are Tobias Guldberg Frøslev, Thomas Stjernegaard Jeppesen, Thomas Læssøe (SNM) and Jens H. Petersen with Jacob Heilmann-Clausen as project leader.

Note that this application can ask for permission to use your location, which is going to make it easier for your to report sightings as well as find observations near you. Use of GPS technology is subject to worsen your batterlife. Your location is secure and is not accessed by anyone, and are only shared with Fungal Atlas when uploaded as part of an observation.
Technologies such as automatic image recognition is never able to be completely precise, and it is therefore important that usage of the system is used in collaboration with an expert. Do not rely on these suggested identifications if you wish to eat the mushrooms you have found.
